Boys and Girls Club remembers James ‘Beev’ Davis

In Pascagoula, a 20-year staff member of the Boys and Girls Club passed away. On Monday, the club held a memorial remembering him and the lives he touched.

Club members and staff held a memorial for James Davis, remembering all the good times and the lives he’s impacted while working and mentoring children over the last 20 years.

When the children went away for holiday break, Davis was there, but now as they return, he’s gone.

A balloon release honoring Davis was held at the Boys and Girls Club of Jackson County Andrew Johnson Unit. Boys and Girls Club Chairman of the Board of Directors Larry G. Hawkins said, “What James had here at the Boys and Girls Club will be measured for decades to come. One of the little girls that found out that James had transitioned and went to Heaven, she told her mother and said “Mr. B believed in me.’ And that made all the difference in the world. That girl’s grades improved, her attitude improved, and her outlook on life improved. That’s just one of the countless people James impacted here.”
