Boys and Girls Club Host 23rd Annual Steak & Steak Fundraiser

Tonight, the Boys and Girls Club of Jackson County held its biggest fundraiser of the year, the 23rd Annual “Steak & Steak Fundraiser.”
High bidders were able to walk around and place bids on items in the silent auction with all proceeds going to benefit the Boys and Girls Club. Scholarships sponsored by the IP Casino as well as the Bacot McCarty Foundation were also awarded tonight to the Youth of the Year and other deserving kids, with most of those going to help pay for students’ college expenses.
This annual event is one the Boys and Girls Club relies on the most to pay for all they do for over 400 students across Jackson County each and every year. Ford Kinsey, chairman of the board for the Boys and Girls Club, said, “We’ll have two kids at every table. So our patrons get to sit and talk with them and get to know them. And they hear first-hand with the kids what the Boys and Girls Club means to them. So, when you think about it adds to that awareness. It adds to the commitment that the community gives to us and kind of makes it stronger and better each year.”
The “Steak & Steak Fundraiser” usually brings in over $50,000 in donations.
