Boy Lied About Biloxi Attempted Kidnapping

On Monday, February 29, 2016, at approximately 0803 hours, the Biloxi Police Department responded to Popps Ferry Elementary School in reference to an attempted kidnapping complaint reported by a 9 year old student.  Upon Officer’s arrival, the juvenile reported that while he was walking to school in the 2200 block of Pass Road, a white male, 6’00 tall, 240 lbs, with short spiked hair, grabbed him from behind and attempted to drag him backwards.  The suspect had allegedly been driving a red, four door truck, possibly a Ford, that was a newer model or very well maintained.  The juvenile reported he was able to kick and fight until he was able to get away.  The juvenile then ran to school and reported the incident to a teacher.

Biloxi Police Department Officers and Investigators interviewed the juvenile and attempted to locate video surveillance in the area to get a better description of the suspect and suspect vehicle.  After reviewing surveillance footage, Investigators interviewed the juvenile again who changed his story and reported he saw a suspicious person in the area, but was never approached by anyone.

The Biloxi Police Department has closed this investigation and would like to thank all of citizens that called with tips and information.
