Bow Ties and Beignets Raises Thousands

A little of a month ago, men and women dawning bow ties took over the Island View Casino. Today, the board that helps organizes bow ties, beignets and bacon revealed how much money they raised at the Harrison County Board of Supervisors meeting. Gulfport City Councilman R Lee Flowers announced about 28-thousand dollars will go toward replacing the beds and the bedding at the emergency children’s shelter items that haven’t been replace in years. The fundraiser did so well they will have extra money to complete a project started with last year’s donations. R. lee flowers, Gulfport city councilman the great thing that happened last year is we got the sidewalk partially paved with the new rubber sidewalk. Councilman Flower tells News 25 he wants to thank the community for their tremendous support in making Bow Ties and Beignets a success.
