Boil Water Notice in Gulfport Subdivisions off of Duckworth
A boil water notice is in effect for a large part of north Gulfport.
The notice originally covered Duckworth Road from Tara Hill Drive east to Wind Rose Circle while a local contractor cut into a city water line to install a storm drain for a subdivision development. It has been extended as far as Grand Bear Golf Course, including Harrison Central High School.
If you live in the areas from Duckworth Road North to Harrison Central, the city advises you to boil your water for at least one minute before consuming.
Wayne Miller with the City of Gulfport tells News 25 crews are set to test the water in the morning and again Thursday. Miller expects the boil water notice to be lifted on Friday.
A complete list of areas affected by the water notice include: Duckworth Road from Tara Hill Drive east to Wind Rose Circle, including Twin Drive. The Water Outage has been extended to, Aerie Road, June Court, Laurelwood Drive, Rose Lane, Dorothy Lane, Hatten Lane, North Swan Road, South Country Wood Drive, H. Page Road, Pecan Hill Drive, Swan Lane, Our Road, Jim Banks Road, School Road, and Walter Smith Road. This also includes, Hatten Farms Subdivision, South Fork Subdivision, Swan Lake Subdivision and Grand Bear Golf Course.
