Body Identified, Suspect Arrested

Gulfport police say the skeletal remains found three weeks ago belong to a Gulfport woman who was killed, burned and dumped into the Biloxi River.
The body belongs to 26-year-old Tena Broadus who was reported missing on September 25th. She was last seen leaving a home on 6th Avenue on September 17th. Authorities found her body in the Biloxi River on October 7th.
During a press conference today, Gulfport Police Chief Leonard Papania says 28-year-old former Simon City Royal street gang member Tim Peterman is charged with her murder.
“We had been waiting on these lab results and based on these lab results it is allowed us to go forward with these murder charges which is a significant part of this investigation but by no means is this investigation closed,” said Papania.
Peterman was in the Harrison County Adult Detention Center for violating parole when he was charged with Broadus’ murder. His bond is set for $1 million.
