Body found near Chandeleur Islands identified as missing South Mississippi boater
The body recovered by St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s deputies near the Chandeleur Islands last week has been identified as missing South Mississippi boater Lam Tra.
That’s according to Tra’s daughter, Jennifer, who confirmed the news to WXXV Monday evening.
Tra reportedly fell off a fishing vessel in the Chandeleur Sound on April 28.
His body was recovered from parish waters last week and transported to the Jefferson Parish Coroner’s Office for an autopsy.
The investigation into Tra’s death is still ongoing.
