Body found in Mississippi Sound identified

On October 15, 2019, a positive identification was made on the individual who was found floating in the Mississippi Sound on October 3, 2019.

The identification was made by the State of Mississippi Medical Examiner’s Office in conjunction with Harrison County Coroner Brian Switzer.  The white male has been identified as 43-year-old Michael Anthony Blakeney Jr., a resident of Baldwin County, Alabama.

There were no indications of foul play revealed during the autopsy. The cause of death is still being determined pending various lab results.

The Biloxi Police Department and the Harrison County Coroner’s Office would like to thank everyone who assisted with information and the identification.  Anyone with pertinent information to this case is still asked to call the Biloxi Police Department or the Harrison County Coroner’s Office as the investigation is still ongoing pending the determination of cause of death.
