Bob Keller to lead MGCCC baseball

Following a national search for a new head baseball coach which began in May after Mississippi Gulf Coast amassed a 26-29 record over the past two season under Coach Wes Thigpen, the Bulldogs announced today the hiring of Bob Keller.

Throughout his 24 years of collegiate coaching, Keller has led pitching staffs at four different schools to a total of nine regionals where his team won twice to advance to Super Regionals and had 51 players selected in the MLB draft.

From 2005 to 2010 at the University of Michigan, Keller had 18 All Big Ten pitchers. In 2012, Keller began a seven-year stint at South Alabama during which the Jaguars won three Sun Belt Conference regular season championships and one tournament title.

Keller comes to the Bulldogs after most recently serving as the director of Alabama operations for Knights Knation Baseball.

The new coach has also made his staff addition, hiring Wiggins resident and former Jones College baseball player Zach Allen.
