Blood stock drive at Memorial Hospital
You could rock and roll up your sleeves at Memorial Hospital today for a blood stock drive.
The need for blood at the hospital is at an emergency level. The summer months are typically slow for blood donors because many people travel out of town. Donors can save up to three lives with every pint of blood they donate.
Members of the American Red Cross tell News 25 every two seconds someone is in need of blood. They are doing everything possible to make the process quicker and more convenient for donors. Account Manager Denise Smith said, “Donors can go online to a website and answer their health history questions before they even get into the health history booth. This can take up to 10 to 15 minutes off the donations process and Memorial is really great where they set up two computers and two printers so that people can actually do it once they get here, that way it still has a tendency to speed things up.”
