Blood drive taking place at Pascagoula High School Friday
You don’t have to be a doctor to save a life. To help do your part, the Pascagoula High School student council is sponsoring a blood drive tomorrow.
The blood drive is open to the public and will be held in the high school gym from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. This is one of the Blood Center’s largest events of the year. Tomorrow they are reaching for a goal of 200 units.
Blood donations will go to local hospitals like Singing River. The drive also helps Pascagoula High School raise scholarship money.
Donors will receive a ‘make your resolution matter: give hope’ t-shirt for helping to save a life. The Blood Center Coastal Region Coordinator Gina Necaise said, “Blood banks are experiencing low inventory so we really need people to come out to keep that inventory at a stable level. This is going to be a special blood drive because the high school also raises scholarship money depending on how many donations we can get.”
Donors can register at the Bloodcenter.org for an appointment time. Walk-ins are welcome depending on availability.
