44-year-old Candra Clark was sentenced this week for slashing a man’s throat in 2025

HARRISON COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)–A Biloxi woman has been convicted of aggravated assault after prosecutors say she slashed a man’s throat with a box cutter outside a Biloxi casino hotel in 2025.

According to District Attorney W. Crosby Parker, 44-year-old Candra Beth Clark was found guilty by a Harrison County jury following a two-day trial. Prosecutors say the attack happened in March of 2025 outside Hotel Legends, where Clark became involved in a verbal confrontation with the victim before allegedly pulling out a box cutter and cutting his throat, causing a serious injury.

Investigators testified that surveillance video captured the assault, and officers recovered the box cutter and arrested Clark within an hour. Jurors also heard testimony about letters Clark allegedly wrote confessing to the attack.

The jury returned a guilty verdict after about 30 minutes of deliberation. Clark is scheduled to be sentenced July 16 and faces up to 20 years in prison.
