Biloxi Shuckers fourth annual job fair
As the Shuckers gear up for their fourth season in Biloxi, team officials are hard at work assembling their staff behind the scenes.
Today, the Shuckers held their annual job fair at MGM Park where about 350 people filed in for interviews. Shuckers General Manager Hunter Reed says the organization is looking to fill about 50 seasonal positions for everything from mascot to on field emcee.
The line was wrapped all the way around from the first base dugout to the third base dugout with a lot of eager applicants ready to join the 2018 game day crew. “We want to make sure that we’re going through there at a good pace, not making anyone stand out here. It’s a little bit chilly today, so we don’t want anybody to have to stand out in the cold too long or anything. So we want to get through in a good timely manner, but also find good, quality candidates to come in here and be a part of the Shuckers family,” said Reed.
Gulfport Native Greg Faul said, “Well, luckily I’ll be in a mask, so nobody will know it’s me. But you’ve got to entertain the audience, or in this case you’ve got to entertain the crowd and they learned you’ve got to give the people what they want.”
