Biloxi Seafood Festival Poster Unveiled

For the first time in six years, a new artist will have his work showcased on the poster for the Biloxi Seafood Festival.
Earlier today, The Biloxi Chamber of Commerce unveiled the poster for the 2016 Biloxi Seafood Festival. The artist is Gulfport native Benjamin Rusher. His inspiration for the poster was seafood heritage and he wanted it to have a nostalgic feel.
Just like Matt Stebly, the winner of the poster contest for the past five years, Rusher is also a tattoo artist. He tells News 25 while it is a competition to win the contest, tattoo artists across the Coast form a tight knit community. “We all push each other as artists to paint and to create as much as possible and push the limit as far as quality on the Gulf Coast. We want to show people that tattooing is not just what people think in the past. We are all artists on top of it.”
The 35th annual Biloxi Seafood Festival will be September 10th and 11th.
