Biloxi Seafood Festival Kicks Off Tomorrow

It’s once again time for the Biloxi Seafood Festival to take over Point Cadet Plaza. Crews were out bright and early this morning setting up for this year’s festival.
The event is now in its 35th year and is put on by the Biloxi Chamber of Commerce.
Events kick off tomorrow morning and will last through Sunday evening. Live music, tasty seafood and the Sun Herald Gumbo Championship are all staples of the event, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t something new for festival-goers this year. Biloxi Seafood Festival Director Rachel Seymour said, “Well this year we’re really excited to have our Kid’s Fishing Rodeo. That’ll start at the fishing bridge just north of here. Of course, not new this year, is going to be that 200 foot po-boy. We want people to come out and grab a piece of that and get as close as they can. You know, who knows, next year we may have to have that as a pay feature because we have so many people.”
