Biloxi Police Department Conducting Safety Checkpoints This Month
If you plan on driving anywhere in Biloxi this month, be warned!
Police will be on the lookout for drunk drivers and other violations throughout the month of June. The Biloxi Police Department will be conducting random safety and sobriety checkpoints throughout the city during the entirety of this month.
They’ll be checking drivers for current and valid driver’s licenses, seat belt use, and proof of insurance. Officers will also be identifying people who are driving impaired or otherwise posing a safety risk to the public at large.
This comes on the heels of Biloxi’s participation in the national “Click It or Ticket” campaign last month.
During that blitz, police issued 62 seat belt citations, 19 speeding tickets, 16 driver’s license citations, and 35 citations for no proof of insurance. This is in addition to 31 other driving violations.
