Biloxi pedestrian overpass update

The long awaited Biloxi pedestrian overpass is complete and near the sight of feet finally getting to enjoy it.

Tomorrow at noon, the City of Biloxi will hold a ribbon cutting inviting citizens and visitors alike to use this overpass.

The ribbon cutting will be on the north side of the walkway right next to MGM Park. Just in time for the start of the Biloxi Shuckers season opener next Thursday, allowing for baseball fans to safely travel across the busy Highway 90. Cecilia Dobbs Walton with the City of Biloxi said, “The crosswalk is a great way for people to get north and south of Highway 90. There is a lot going on south of Highway 90 in this area and there is a lot going on north of Highway 90 in this area, a lot of hotels, restaurants, and of course MGM Park so it’s just an easy and safe way for people to get across Highway 90 to enjoy both sides.”

Walton tells us this overpass is 160 feet long and spans nine lanes across Highway 90. It has elevators on each side and will be open 24/7.
