Biloxi man honored for lifesaving efforts

One Biloxi man received a big honor today in recognition for his lifesaving efforts.

American Red Cross volunteer Cliff Boyer rendered lifesaving aid to a fellow volunteer who fell from a truck and hit his head while on disaster relief in Greenville this past May.

As a result, The Red Cross presented Boyer with the Certificate of Merit today at the Red Cross office in Gulfport. The certificate recognizes Boyer’s efforts and is signed by President Donald Trump.

Boyer says he’s touched by the honor. “The way I look at everything is if it was me falling and had that, I would want somebody else to do the same thing.”

The Certificate of Merit is the highest award the Red Cross issues to people who render critical aid using skills learned during Red Cross training.
