Biloxi man charged with assaulting officer by shooting at him
A Biloxi man is behind bars after allegedly shooting at Biloxi officers who responded to a domestic disturbance call at his home.
Capt. Brian Dykes said in a press release over the weekend that on July 10, officers arrested Michel David Wheeler on two charges of aggravated assault on law enforcement officers.
Officers were called out to a home in the 8000 block of Boss Husley Road on July 10. When they arrived, the officers allegedly were fired upon by an individual involved in the domestic disturbance.
Evidence collected during the investigation led to Wheeler being identified as a suspect in the case.
Wheeler was taken to Harrison County jail and held in lieu of a $450,000 bond set by Justice Judge Albert Fountain.
The investigation continues. Anyone with information is asked to call Biloxi Criminal Investigation Division at 228-435-6112.
