Biloxi Lighthouse Pier repair update

Lighthouse Pier in Biloxi has been closed to the public since Hurricane Nate left the popular spot damaged and unusable.

While the pier has been closed, the area around it has been getting a facelift which includes new landscaping and a freshly paved parking lot.

Biloxi city officials tell News 25 it is finally time to begin repairs on the lighthouse pier and other piers around town that were damaged in the storm. Cecilia Dobbs-Walton with City of Biloxi Public Affairs said, “The City of Biloxi awarded a contract to do work on four piers that were damaged by Hurricane Nate. The four piers are the Coliseum Pier, Oak Street North, the old Eyes Wharf, and Lighthouse Pier. That work is scheduled to start in the next couple of weeks and will take about 45 days to complete.”

Crews will be working on all four piers at the same time and are expected to be done around June.
