Biloxi infrastructure project update

We’re now half way through the year and the East Biloxi infrastructure project is in its last six months before the December deadline.

This afternoon, the Biloxi City Council approved adding 11 extra days to the contract for weather delays.

Oscar Renda, the construction company in charge of finishing the multi-year project, says they are currently on track to meet the deadline, but with all the rain South Mississippi sees, it’s impossible for the project to not be affected by the weather. City of Biloxi Spokesman Vincent Creel said, “The big challenge we have right now is we have more workers out there than we’ve ever had. That means the public is running into more closed streets because more work is going on, but we’re continuing to see progress.”

The original deadline of the contract was August 8th, 2017, but after multiple delays it is now December 22nd, 2018.
