Biloxi Holds Special City Council Meeting

The City of Biloxi is currently discussing litigation claiming the city illegally arrested and jailed poor people. Today, the City Council held a special meeting to talk about the strategy involved in the case.
While the City Council met at City Hall, Mayor Andrew ‘FoFo’ Gilich and City Attorney Gerald Blessey met with the American Civil Liberties Union on the case. The plaintiffs, Qumortia Kennedy, Richard Tillery and Joseph Anderson, claim they sat in jail for days and even weeks because they were unable to pay fines.
City leaders have told News 25 they do not expect a decision to be made today.
