Biloxi discusses next year’s budget

Biloxi City Council held a special meeting this afternoon to discuss the upcoming year’s budget.

According to Mayor FoFo Gilich, the City of Biloxi is expected to end this year in the green. The proposed revenue for 2019 is just short of $58 million.

Gilich also tells News 25 no tax increases are expected for 2019. There are also no expected cuts for city employees. “We’ve been very successful in out running our budgets, out running the forecast that we do in July. We’ve always been on top of that.”

The council is slated to approve the 2019 municipal budget on Friday at a special meeting. The budget goes into effect October 1st.
