Biloxi Council votes against homeless center idea

The City of Biloxi will not be going through with the idea to turn the old Beauvoir school into a homeless center.
The decision comes after a 3-3 vote from council members at City Hall today. Council members had very opposing perspectives on what it would take to convert the vacant school into a facility for homeless families.
Mayor Andrew ‘FoFo’ Gilich says he wanted to go through with the plan to help Biloxi’s community and tourism industry. The idea for the center was supposed to potentially narrow down the estimated $350,000 the Biloxi police spend on the city’s homeless problem.
Council members tell News 25 they will now start to look at alternative ideas to help fix some of Biloxi’s issues with the homeless.
