Biloxi businesses prep for Mardi Gras parades this weekend
Saturday, the Krewe of Neptune night parade will sweep Downtown Biloxi in a cascade of lights and businesses are preparing.
As the floats turn briefly down Howard Avenue, guests who plant themselves there for the show will find that it’s a great spot to grab food and drinks.
Makin’ Groceries is a family-owned plant-based eatery on Howard and they’ll be expanding their hours and rolling out beer selections.
The restaurant acquired its license to sell beer this week, just in time for the festivities. Makin’ Groceries owner Lauren Turner said, “We’re doing a lot of heavy prep because we make everything from scratch. Just getting ready for the extra-super-high-volume weekend that’s ahead. We’re also rolling out our new beer list — we just got our beer permit today, so we will have craft beers from local breweries like Fly Llama Brewery and Chandeleur Brewery that you guys can come and grab for your parade festivities.”
Temptations and Boho on either side of Makin’ Groceries will also have food and drink options.
