Bill On Vaccination Requirements

A bill that would let physician’s exempt children from Mississippi’s vaccination requirements is advancing in the state house.

Under current law, the state health department must approve requests for vaccination exemptions.
Top health officials want to keep it that way. But, a group of parents say *they*, not the state, should be able to decide when their children get vaccines.
A broader bill allowing parents to decline vaccinations for philosophical reasons died Tuesday.
