Bernie Sanders Rally
The Bernie Sanders campaign makes a stop in Gulfport tonight.
Crowds of people, young and old, piled into the Irish Coast Pub in downtown Gulfport around 7 o’clock. The Sanders Mississippi Campaign Team discussed how to build on the momentum from the New Hampshire victory. The campaign is asking for volunteers to help get Mississippians to go to the polls on March 8th and cast their vote for Sanders.
Many locals tell News 25 they believe it’s hard being a Democrat and Sanders supporter in South Mississippi. Sanders supporter Amber Murdock said, “We’re trying to get people together, especially the younger crowd, to start voting and I hope that they do start voting for Bernie.”
Director for Bernie Sanders campaign Keelan Sanders said, “His record shows, if you look at anything and everything that he’s said since he’s been in office, he’s always meant what he said and has been right on point.”
The Bern Storm Tour will make its way through Mississippi this weekend, ending in Oxford on Sunday. If you would like to volunteer for the Sanders campaign in Mississippi, you can go to Berniesanders.com to sign up.
