Berlin Zoo’s twin panda cubs open their eyes for the very first time
Panda-monium times two at a Berlin zoo. Germany’s first giant panda twin cubs open their eyes for the first time.
A panda keeper at the zoo says the cubs, born nearly two months ago, are on track in their growth process.
Their mother Meng Meng is getting help rearing the two cubs from breeding experts because pandas with twins usually raise only one of the cubs.
China’s “panda diplomacy” allowed Meng Meng and the cub’s father to be brought to Berlin to breed.
Under that deal, any cubs will be returned to China once they no longer need their mother.
