Benefit lunches for injured Harrison County deputies
Good food for an even better cause: that’s what was going on at the Harrison County Sheriff Department’s work center today where the ‘Smokin Pigs’ cooking team prepared 250 plates of chicken, beans, slaw, and potato salad for $10.
The best part is all proceeds will go towards medical bills for Brian Kelly and Krystal Bland, two deputies injured in the line of duty a few months ago. Captain Coley Judy said, “Our cooking team, what we do is we help deputies, first responders that are injured in the line of duty. We do these benefits periodically throughout the year just to help deputies that are injured or sick or anything like that.”
The event is now over, but if you’d like to help these injured deputies cash donations can be made at the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department at any time.
