Bells by the Sea
Today some people took a break from the loud sound of fireworks for the relaxing sound of church bells.
The annual Bells on the Beach fundraiser drew a huge crowd to St. Peter’s by the Sea. People of all ages were celebrating the holiday by enjoying some food, playing on inflatables, and listening to the bell choir play music.
This fundraiser benefits St. Peter’s bell choir music fund and it provides folks with a front row view of the Gulfport fireworks. Priest Patrick Sanders said, “Super cheap, great barbecue. They do water slides for the kids, kind of your typical Fourth of July fair and all of the proceeds go to the bell choir and they all play and then it all wraps up and it really is the best spot to watch the Gulfport fireworks.”
If you missed out on this fun experience, the Church plans to hold this fundraiser again next Fourth of July. The event is open to anyone who wants to come.
