Beauvoir Welcomes “Pokémon Go”

While many sites are saying no to “Pokémon Go,” Beauvoir continues to welcome the game with open arms.
The virtual reality game draws in an average of an additional 20 guests per day to the home of the Confederacy. It’s been so popular Beauvoir now offers discounted admission for those only coming to play the game.
While many places have seen issues with the game, Beauvoir officials tell News 25 it has been nothing but positive for them. Tours, Programs and Events Coordinator Kitsaa Stevens said, “It has increased admissions. It’s increased awareness of our historical property. So, we’re embracing the game and also educating the youth who are playing the game about the historical site.”
Beauvoir is hosting a “Pokémon Go” event from 6 to 10 on Saturday with lures dropped every half hour. Admission to the event is $3.50.
