Beauvoir Open on Thanksgiving Day
If you’re looking for something to do on Thanksgiving Day after eating all that turkey, how about walking off your dinner at Beauvoir?
Jefferson Davis’ historic home in Biloxi will be open on Thanksgiving Day starting at 2 p.m. The public is welcome to tour the garden, walk around the grounds, shop in the gift shop and even hang out with their two resident turkeys, Dingus and McGee.
You don’t have to worry about these two turkeys ending up on a plate because both were pardoned earlier this month. Kitsaa Stevens with Beauvoir Tours, Programs and Events said, “What’s so special about them is they’re a heritage breed of turkey. They would have been a breed of turkey that was on the property when Jefferson Davis was here. We just think they’re special.”
Beauvoir will also be open the same hours on Christmas Day.
