Beautify the Meek Donation Event

With Mother’s Day this weekend, one local organization is looking to uplift women who are survivors of domestic abuse.

The ‘Beautify the Meek’ organization is accepting donations to support women and children in domestic violence shelters, drug rehabilitation centers, and homeless shelters.

The group is looking for items such as body wash, shower gels, soaps, toiletries, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and feminine hygiene products as well as gift bags, purses, book bags, and jewelry.

Owner Katrina Currie says helping survivors is a cause that’s near to her heart. “When I finally got the courage to finally speak out and share it with my family and got that support, it just changed my life. So I want to do that with other people. I want to change their lives and tell them they’re not alone and you can have this courage and we want to share with you that we support you and you can do this”

Drop off locations include the Rejuvenation Station in Biloxi and Friends BBQ in Moss Point. Currie says they hope to pick up donations by Friday.
