Beau Rivage reopened today after Hurricane Zeta
This afternoon at 3 p.m., the Beau Rivage opened for the first time since last week.
The casino had been closed since Hurricane Zeta, but is now ready to safely accept guests. The casino was not damaged by the storm. However, the parking garage and escalators were hit by storm surge. All damage was done underneath the casino, only impacting the pipes and lines.
The casino is still following strict COVID safety procedures and social distancing.
The Beau Rivage tells News 25 they feel comfortable opening, knowing the health and safety of their guests is secure. Public Relations Director for MGM Resorts Mississippi Mary Cracchiolo Spain said, “The damage to the Beau Rivage was primarily underneath the casino barge. The storm surge that happened with Hurricane Zeta was so strong that it went over the wall and it intersected the pipes and lines underneath the barge. So, that’s what all of our teams have been working around the clock to repair those lines. The resort itself is in great shape. It really looks great. The hotel is open. The casino is open, all the retail shops are open. The spa, the salon, the pool, all open. We have limited food and beverage operations that will continue to evolve.”
