Beau Rivage donates $5K for tornado relief

William Carey University’s Hattiesburg campus now has 5,000 extra dollars to put towards the tornado relief effort thanks to the Beau Rivage Resort and Casino.
Senior Project Manager for William Carey University Dick Vogel was on hand as Beau Rivage executives presented the $5,000 check. In exchange, Vogel gave the Beau Rivage executives a ‘thank you’ flag thanking the Beau Rivage for their support in the Golf Day for Carey fundraiser.
Vogel says all of the money will go towards student recovery. “We have about 1,000 students who live on campus and all the dorms were damaged. Two were completely damaged. An apartment over our art gallery was totally lost that held some students and faculty and staff. It’s going to their recovery of personal items. A lot of the faculty and staff especially had their own furniture, their own clothing, computers, cars.”
As an added fundraiser, the Biloxi Shuckers will play the William Carey University baseball team in an exhibition game April 4th.
