BBQ fundraiser for Ashton Cole

When the Allen Hyundai team found out the family of 13-year-old Ashton Cole might not have enough money to cover funeral expenses after he was found dead in a swimming pool in Gulfport, they knew they needed to help.

They’re going to break out the barbecue pit once again in hopes the community will come out and enjoy a plate of good food while giving back for a good cause. Tickets to reserve a plate are on sale now through Allen Hyundai.

One hundred percent of all ticket sales will go to the family of Ashton Cole to cover the cost of a proper funeral. Owner Scott Allen said, “I went to Bayou View Middle School, I went to Bayou View Elementary. This is my local community and I have two daughters, they’re the most important thing to me in the world. If something happened to my kids, I don’t know how I’d process the pain and then to not be able to give even a basic burial. At least we can solve a small part of this, but we’ll never be able to fix the pain the family feels.”

A ten dollar ticket will get you a pulled pork sandwich, chips and a drink. The event will be held at Allen Hyundai Saturday, May 26th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tickets can be purchased anytime from now until the day of the event.
