Bayview Gourmet closes its doors

After 20 years, a much loved restaurant, Bayview Gourmet, will be closing its doors.

The staple eatery in Ocean Springs served their last meals today and long-time manager Tracey Stanley tells News 25 the building will now be up for sale after she couldn’t come to a lease agreement with the owners.

Doors officially closed at 2:30 today. This morning, Bayview’s most loyal patrons, like Willard Mujer, piled in to get their last meal at their favorite spot.

Mujer says he has been eating at Bayview since the early 80’s when it was located on Government Street. “My wife, we were married 58 years and she passed away about three or four years ago and she was two years in the hospital and we had a very good marriage and we could come here to one of our favorite eating places. They have been very good to me and very stable up until now.”

The building will now be on the market with a price tag of one million dollars.
