Bayou View Elementary School holds Famous American Wax Museum

Second graders at Bayou View Elementary spent the day dressed as some famous faces.

The entire grade went all out for the annual Famous American Wax Museum. Each student chose a well-known American to research and dress up as.

The rest of the school made their way through the museum where each famous American presented a written speech detailing the history of their lives.

Historical figures like Benjamin Franklin and Martin Luther King, entertainment icons Lucille Ball and Betty White, and sports legends Patrick Mahomes and Drew Brees were just a few of the big names in attendance. Teacher Sadie Tiner said, “It’s been a tradition for years. The best occasion of the year. The parents are so excited to come and see the product of picking your person, doing your research, writing your paper and memorizing it, finding your costume and then getting to learn about these famous Americans who we sometimes forget about and forget the facts about.”

Teachers say students and parents look forward to the event every year.
