Bay St. Louis officers honored with Life Saving Medal

In Bay St. Louis, several first responders were recognized for their heroic acts on December 22nd, 2018.

Those honored were Officer Bailey Ordoyne and Detective James Sanchez. They were presented with the Life Saving Medals after performing life saving measures to help an infant after a drowning incident.

Thanks to those officers, as well as firefighters and dispatch, the child was able to recover.

The officers say they were just doing their jobs. Officer Ordoyne said, “On that night, my partner was driving. We didn’t have to talk to each other. We knew what our training was and we relied on that to get it done.”

Detective Sanchez said, “It was a great feeling to see the way she was in the hospital to being happy and going back to the way her mom told us she was. You can’t beat that feeling.”
