Bay St. Louis Fire Department donation drop off

As clean-up efforts continue in Texas from Hurricane Harvey, South Mississippians are stepping up to help.
The firefighters for the Bay St. Louis Fire Department have set up a donation drop off at the station on Main Street.
The firefighters told News 25 that they wanted to do this drive because they have experienced the devastation before and were thankful for those who helped them. Deputy Fire Chief Ronald Avery said, “A lot of people stepped up when Bay St. Louis was in its Katrina state and so with that being said, the mayor of the city, the police chief and fire chiefs, we all stepped in and decided that this was something that we needed to get together and get going.”
Avery tells News 25 that they are not sure exactly when the donations will be sent to Texas, but they have plans to send them to areas surrounding Houston.
