Bay St. Louis city officials swear in
The City of Bay St. Louis has officially sworn in seven city council members and their new mayor, Mike Favre.
During the June 6th general elections, Favre came out on top with 86 percent of the vote defeating Republican challenger Jeff Harding. Now that Favre has officially taken the mayor’s seat, he plans on working hard to fix budget issues and work with the new city councilmen and bringing in their ideas.
Favre tells News 25 he’s ready to get started on improving streets and sewer problems and is ready for the City of Bay St. Louis to put the past behind them. “We got some service issues, you know, with different things in our streets, in our drainage problems, our major problems. We got some other things here and there that were going to look at. Still waiting to hear back from trying to clear up some past investigations, you know, with the FBI and everything, want to get that put behind us, need to put the past behind us and move forward.”
Favre says he’s ready to be open and honest with the citizens and bring back the accountability and transparency into the city.
