Bank Robbery Suspect Caught

A man accused of robbing a bank in Escatawpa today was arrested after he was found just up the road from the scene of the crime. It happened at 1:30 today at Hancock Bank.
Moss Point Police Chief Art McClung says 38 year old Edwin Allen Chambers the Third slipped a note to a teller, saying to hand over the money because he had a weapon. When they gave him the money, he fled the bank on foot, but was found not long afterward just east of the bank on Saracennia Road. The bag of cash was found on the ground. Chambers is charged with bank robbery. No weapon was found on him.
The robbery is being investigated by the FBI.
