Bald Eagle rescued from interstate in California

California Highway Patrol was out early Wednesday morning to rescue a bald eagle from the interstate.

It happened in Redding, in northern California.

The eagle was injured. Officers were able to move the bird to the shoulder.

Shasta County Animal Control and the Department of Fish and Wildlife helped cage the eagle.

The Fish and Wildlife Department was taking the bird to a facility to be examined and treated.
