Bacot McCarty Foundation Opens New Headquarters

The Bacot McCarty Foundation is known for helping others, but Thursday, they were able to celebrate the opening of their new base of operations on the Gulf Coast. Members and founders of the Bacot McCarty Foundation met on the steps of their new building Thursday to cut the ribbon and usher in the future of the foundation.

The foundation has been housed in the Merchant and Marine Bank for the past ten years, but has outgrown that location and is ready to serve the Gulf Coast from its new location on Jackson Avenue. Thursday’s festivities included live music, great food, and appearances by Pascagoula and Jackson County officials who were on hand to speak to the crowd of supporters. Executive Director, Todd Trenchard, spoke about what the move means for the foundation moving forward.

Trenchard says, "What we’re doing is we’re trying to expand our outreach across south Mississippi and the Gulf Coast region, and by establishing our own identity and our own location, it’s going to be beneficial not just for the foundation, but for the local community."

After the ribbon cutting, the foundation gave out $150,000 they had raised during the Jolly McCarty Memorial this past summer.
