Back to back shootings have Gulfport residents concerned

Back to back shootings just hours apart in Gulfport are leaving neighbors uneasy.
Officers are investigating two shootings. Both incidents surfaced yesterday. Most recently was a shooting on the 100 block of Holly Circle.
Police responded to Garden Park Hospital in reference to a 25-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg. The victim gave inconsistent versions of events, including that he was shot by an unknown suspect.
Forty-one year-old Marvin Ray McMillian has been identified as the suspect for another shooting police say happened yesterday on 26th Street. Gulfport resident Donnell Bolden said, “I think they’re doing what they can, but then you have these isolated incidents. We need to get behind these shootings, get behind the crime. What’s causing it? You know, where the kids coming from, are they people that live within or are they people that’s coming in? There’s only two ways in and two ways out of this neighborhood so if you don’t live here, you don’t have relatives here, why you hanging around for?”
Anyone with information regarding either of these cases is urged to contact the Gulfport police.
