Auto Theft Ring Arrests In Jackson County

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department has broken up what it calls an auto theft ring. Five suspects are now in custody each charged with two Countys of motor vehicle felony taking. On Christmas, deputies responded to a burglary in progress at an auto auctions business near Moss Point, but they unsuccessful tried to stop a white SUV that was being driven off the property. A deputy stopped the vehicle on Monday and arrested the driver “Eric Crews”. His arrest led to the recovery of seven additional vehicles and the arrest of four others identified as “Pam Ryan”, “Jacob Teague”, “Joshua Wenger”, and “Lacey Jones”. More arrests are expected and the search continues for at least two other stolen vehicles.
