Attempted Robbery at Ocean Springs Wal-Mart

A would-be robber is still on the loose after a teller at the Money Center at the Ocean Springs Wal-Mart fended the man off with a stapler.
The man produced a note to the teller demanding all the money in the drawers and threatening to kill them if they didn’t comply. The teller tried to come out from behind the counter, that’s when the man reached into his pocket and the teller picked up the stapler and scared him away.
The suspect is described as a 6 foot tall, black male wearing a red ball cap and black hoodie with white writing. He was seen leaving the Wal-Mart in a 2002 silver Honda Accord.
Stacie Sutton, Wal-Mart store manager, said, “Well, it’s not something that you’re prepared for until it happens and you really don’t know how you’re going to respond or react to something until it actually does happen. But, she remained calm and she didn’t, you know, she created a scene to get help over to the counter and basically scared the individual off because he ran off.”
Anyone with any information about this crime is asked to call the Ocean Springs Police Department at 228-875-2211 or call Crime Stoppers.
