Arrest Made in Vancleave Teen Murder

Investigators believe a 16-year-old Vancleave boy was killed by his 19-year-old cousin.
Cliff Allyn’s cousin, 19-year-old Dexter Kelly, has been arrested and charged with murder. Allyn was reported missing Wednesday afternoon when he didn’t return home from playing basketball with a group of friends. A search team found his body early Thursday evening behind his home in a wooded area on Nanny Road. The cause of death and motive for murder has not yet been determined.
Jackson County Sheriff Mike Ezell tells News 25 the situation is tragic. “It’s a tragedy, it’s just a hard thing to have to deal with, but you know, it’s just one of those things.”
Allyn’s body is being sent to Jackson for an autopsy. A GoFundMe account has been set up to help pay for Allyn’s funeral arrangements.
In the meantime, Kelly is being held at the Jackson County Adult Detention Center.
