Appreciation breakfast for Harrison County Sheriff’s Dept.

The Gulfport Scottish Rite hosted the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department this morning for a breakfast in appreciation for all of their hard work in the community.

This is their second year hosting this event. Last year, Gulfport fire and police were honored. The rite is always looking for ways to thank first responders.

It wasn’t just the sheriff and his deputies invited. It was open to everyone within the department.

So, those behind the scenes still serving their community get recognized as well. Sheriff Troy Peterson said, “It’s always a wonderful thing. It goes back deep in your heart. You know the appreciation is always there and we thank them for it.”

Bill Sloan with the Gulfport Scottish Rite said, “We are a charitable organization and we need to support them guys in doing what they do so that we can do what we do.”

The Scottish Rite plans to make this an annual event honoring even more first responding agencies on the Coast.
