Amtrak Preparations

Local officials met today to iron out the details on tomorrow’s testing tour.
Biloxi officials are calling their portion of the trip “The Biloxi Whistle Stop” where Amtrak and state leaders will be greeted by a Mardi Gras entourage. Amtrak will be stopping at several locations on the Gulf Coast as it rolls from New Orleans down to Jacksonville, Florida.
Coast leaders are pulling out all the stops to make the trip a success. Downtown Services Coordinator Kay Carter said, “We are working out traffic flow, blocking the streets, stage placements and everything for tomorrow. We have a lot of good food vendors. You can come have grilled oysters, crawfish, beignets, iced coffee.”
The first stop on the tour is Bay St. Louis and its last stop in our state will be in Pascagoula. News 25 will be there and the public is welcome to check it out as well.
